Pretty Much

4.02.2012
Remember last week's post?

I read this quote shortly after:

“There’s something sacred about reading a blog post on someone else’s site. It’s like visiting a friend’s house for a quick meal ’round the breakfast table. It’s personal — you’re in their space, and the environment is uniquely suited for idea exchange and uninterrupted conversation. In many ways, we should be treating our blogs like our breakfast tables. Be welcoming; gracious when you host, and kind; respectful when visiting.”~ Trent Walton

...Pretty much right on.

  1. i like this!

also, I went back and read your other post (which I originally missed?)

and I get that point too.

When I take the time to post,
(which is only about once a week...which might be the prob right there)
I am usually thinking about my kids, or myself, about 20 years in the future...and what sorts of things will I ohhh and awww over when I go back and read. :)

BUT...there have been times where I have been tempted to use my bloggie for a place to, let it all out, if you will.

And I'll tell you what holds me back each and every time. In my circumstance, what often causes me the most pain always involves another person (usually family :) and in airing my own grievances, I would also be exposing them.

for me, that wouldn't be cool.
    it's a loose loose.

on the other hand...there ARE personal thoughts and disappointments that I could most certainly share.

But I admit, I rarely do.
For me, I think it boils down to available time.

  2. ahhh but grievances aren't the only truths. I think your blog is honest. I love seeing a day in the life of Tara. I never feel like you fake the funk or leave out the hard days...THAT'S the good stuff. THAT'S what I love to read :)

Some people rosy-up their lives dishonestly. That's just wasteful energy.
